Childcare staff & Safety

30 + years operating child centered care and events

Kristin Simmons, owner of KDS started her childcare business as a teenager. About a decade later, after the birth of her first child, she opened her large family childcare, which followed with the opening of a community childcare facility in 2012. She has also owned and operated a family party planning business since 2002.

After reaching her 30 year mark as director/owner in child-care, Kristin began to see a need for event childcare.  She immediately felt confident she could offer services for this need with an enormous amount of knowledge, experience, and passion.  

Kristin also has a master's degree in hospitality management from The University of Southern California.  This program equipped her to approach event childcare with the same focus on client experience, operational logistics, and seamless coordination expected of high-quality events

"I had to miss out on some educational conferences because I didn't have childcare for my son".   As Ms. Kristin said this, she first saw the need for Event childcare.


Qualified Staff

At least one member on location=CPR Certified/1st aid training

All staff have passed criminal background checks

Children/staff ratios depend on ages of children, hours and location

All staff are trained to meet our sanitization requirements

Safety and security are of high importance at KDS.

The following are always considered with priority:

Emergency exit & handling awareness 

Health & safety training 

Experience planning age appropriate curriculum & activities

Training on security measures (including child pick ups)

Training on child illnesses and allergies

Additional topics are also discussed as needed during monthly meetings  with event managers 


On site awareness-The following will be reviewed, discussed and planned out

Exit/emergency plans

Prior to events, our staff discusses (with location personnel),  emergency and 1st aid protocols.

Restrooms/drinking water

All locations will have closely available restrooms and wash areas.  We will also have drinking water throughout the duration of our bookings.

Parent location

All parent locations and contact information is to be shared with our staff.
